A Large Welded Steel Fork

Kingpinless caster forks are generally stronger and less apt to fail under shock loader conditions than their kingpinned counterparts. Kingpinless casters feature a unique design that uses one or more ball bearing raceways without a rivet, or kingpin, to hold the top plate and the fork together.

In a typical kingpin fork design, the kingpin can bend or break when shock loading is applied, causing the swivel head to lose ball bearings and fail. In the kingpinless design, this issue is far less likely to occur since there is no kingpin to break.
